From staring in a Ulli Lommel film to having a ton of movies about to be released that feature some of our favorites in indie horror (Tony Todd, Bill Mosley, and Bill Oberst for starters) – Elissa easily wears the crown of a Horror Queen.
At what age did you know you wanted to be in the movie world?
Film was never really the ultimate goal, it just kind of fell into place. I come from a musical theatre and ballet background and I’ve been performing since I could walk.
What is your favorite part about movie making?
Craft services. Those little cheese crackers with peanut butter inside. (Laughs) Just kidding, I like transitioning into different characters, it’s nice to be someone else for awhile. I also love all the cool people I get to meet and work with.
What advice do you have for up and coming Horror Queens?
Stay grounded, remain humble. Don’t forget who you are and where you’ve been. If you act all high and mighty on the glimpse of success, you end up looking like a douche.
What role are you the most proud of?
Probably Ginger in “A Night Of Nightmares” because I got to sing in that one.
Do you have an actor who you are dying to work with?
Amanda Plummer and Gary Oldman. Make it happen people.
Any new projects we should be on the lookout for?
I think my next release is Axeman At Cutters Creek. Tiffany Shepis is in that one too. She’s my fav!
What scares you?
Mother Nature can be pretty scary. I’ve been struck by lightning and it wasn’t very fun. Also people scare me. There are some really deranged people out there. Speaking of deranged people, an old friend of mine was just brutally attacked in the streets of Brooklyn. Please check out this great cause: http://www.gofundme.com/3l62ig
