Furnace Fest Drops Massive Lineup on Birmingham AL

Article and Photos by Preston Hooks

Coming hot off the heels of Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Furnace Fest has dropped a massive lineup featuring multiple heavy hitters who delivered slam-dunk sets at the aforementioned superfest. Headliners are set to be A Day To Remember (Saturday) and Bring Me The Horizon performing Count Your Blessings in its entirety (Sunday)!

A Day To Remember (Maximum Fun Tour)

This also reminds us that one of the most exciting times of the year comes right after a major fest, when other festivals and shows begin getting announced en masse. Slightly lifting the post-fest depression some of us may be feeling.

This lineup has depth well beyond the headliner row, however. Fan favorites from across the heavy music scene, including Motionless in White, Suicide Silence, Chiodos, Chelsea Grin, and Hatebreed, are spread across the two-day extravaganza held at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL. Underoath is also slated to perform Define the Great Line in its entirety. Another very special set for die hard fans.

The Furnace Fest lineup isn’t slacking when it comes to new-school heavy music either, with groups like Kublai Khan TX and The Plot in You ready to bring their unique sounds to the masses. Of course, there’s also an undercard filled to the brim with longtime cult favorites and new bands waiting to be discovered.

One other notable aspect of Furnace Fest, aside from its cool location at Sloss Furnaces and more focused lineup, is its timing. While many festival organizers schedule their events during the hottest weekends of the year, Furnace Fest is being held October 10 & 11 this year. A time likely to bring milder temperatures and any given fan to take in more music, as the need for breaks should be reduced significantly.

Pre sale starts Friday May 15 and I must say the ticket prices sound great!
