Given its place in endurance racing’s Triple Crown, its appearances in movies, and its iconic location (including most recently in Brad Pitt’s F1) it’s baffling how few people in the 850 and Florida as a whole realize the IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona is held in their backyard every year, especially considering the event’s growing popularity.

The 2027 iteration is set to go off on January 30, with drivers running their machines hard through the night to set up the final push to the finish when the sun is once again high in the sky on the 31st. Dust, rain, cold, fog, debris, damage, exhaustion, emotions…They’ll drive hard for 24 hours through all of it.

At the end, somebody is getting a very expensive watch.

For decades, endurance racing has attracted drivers from every corner of motorsports, along with fans from across the globe. Drivers like former F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, current F1 titleholder Lando Norris, Indy 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist, and NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon have all made their mark in endurance racing. It’s about the challenge of winning a 12 or 24-hour race and the incredible skill, determination, teamwork, and little bit of luck required to pull it off.

Drivers aside, top teams and manufacturers line the grid every year, including names like Porsche Penske, Cadillac Whelen, Pratt-Miller Corvette, and BMW. With more than 60 cars competing across multiple classes, there’s almost guaranteed to be a team, manufacturer, or class for any racing fan to get behind.

Tickets for the IMSA Rolex 24 are on sale now! For about $170, you get four days of access to the track, including qualifying and practice sessions, along with access to the grandstands, infield, and garages during race weekend. You’ll also get admission to “The Roar Before the 24,” the final dress rehearsal before race week.

Overall, IMSA and Daytona International Speedway have come together to create an entirely unique experience for racing fans and competitors. For a relatively attainable price, you get four days at the track, an incredible amount of fan access, and the chance to watch some of the best drivers, manufacturers, and teams in the world battle for 24 straight hours. It almost feels insane to get that much racing and that much access without blowing a budget to pieces. Looking at you, NASCAR and F1.
