What first attracted you to photography?
My grandfather was an aerial photographer for the Navy and had a dark room in his house. I learned how to shoot and develop film at a super young age.
What is a moment you are most proud of in regards to photography?
I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world and shoot all sorts of events, but being able to capture my kids’ graduations and family photos with my grandbabies are the moments that I love the most.
Favorite style or subject to shoot?
I love capturing raw emotion, whether it’s an artist truly feeling their music or an athlete expressing the extreme joy of victory or the agony of defeat.
Favorite piece of equipment?
My absolute favorite piece of gear right now is a Canon RF 100-300 2.8 lens.
What is your dream photography gig?
I’d love the chance to tour with an artist and experience life on the road for a (short) while!
Any advice for others who are interested in photography?
I learned a lot of what I know from the university of YouTube and tons of hours behind the lens. If it’s something you want to pursue, get out there and do it.
The best piece of advice you received starting out?
Do not listen to the “rules” of photography. Gatekeeping and following a set of rules is not for creatives!
What services do you offer?
I am at a point in my life and career where I am very picky with what I offer. I don’t offer many photography services, I am just doing what I enjoy. Creatives can always contact me with a vision or need though.
