New Earthy Army is not only a killer local band, but they are wonderful people. They’ve kept us in the loop as they’ve reached out and funded the production on this album through crowd funding, and of course NEA is behind RevFest too! They passed this press release our way to celebrate the release of their newest album; and we can’t wait to get our hands on a physical copy.
New Earth Army to Release “Musikizinew”
“Sultry. Freeing. Sexy. A vision quest that brought me down the rabbit hole.”
–Josette Rhodes, 30A Songwriter Radio
The New Earth Army has teamed up with Emergent Recording and Production House to create its second full length album, “Musikizinew”! Since the release of the band’s debut album, “Action”, NEA has evolved from its pure guitar driven roots while keeping the jam spirit of the original band alive. With the addition of a new drummer and two saxophones, the band has begun to groove in a whole new way.
The three original members, Carly Foster (vocals), Chavis Hobbs (guitar), and Michael Flatau (bass) have been working constantly to write new, original music, and the addition of Jacoby Jackson (drums), Joshua Zook (alto sax), and Ben Johnson (tenor sax) has taken their creativity to the next level, which is evident in the recording of “Musikizinew”. Carly’s powerful voice leads listeners on a journey of musical exploration through several genres including funk, rock, blues, jazz, and reggae, all while experiencing a fresh take on funky beats and chill grooves, as well as a wide range of harmonies and sexy hooks from the horn line.
New Earth Army has been steadily increasing its presence throughout the Emerald Coast over the past year, hosting the second annual Okaloosa RevFest in Fort Walton Beach, playing shows at several popular venues stretching from 30A to Pensacola, and making their television debut on the 6th season of the PBS Series, StudioAmped. NEA is charging full steam ahead as they return home from the 5th Annual Orange Blossom Jamboree to celebrate the release of “Musikizinew” with their hometown crowd at KC’s Sandbar in Downtown Fort Walton Beach on Friday, May 30th and the Funky Blues Shack in Destin on Saturday, May 31st. Expect a high energy show with guest musicians and surprises, including a special set where NEA will play the new album live and uninterrupted from start to finish. Both shows are free and completely open to the public.
