New this Year: First-Ever Family Fun Day & Meet and Greet with Iconic Director, Del Shores
Pensacola, FL – Stamped LGBTQ Film Festival—Pensacola’s annual event featuring lesbian, gay, bi, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) films and filmmakers from across the globe—is returning for its eighth year, August 22–25. In addition to groundbreaking films, this year’s event will feature two exciting new additions—an evening with iconic producer, Del Shores (known for Sordid Lives and Queer as Folk) and a family day on Sunday, featuring face painting, kids’ activities, and family-friendly films.
Kicking off on Thursday, August 22, the festival begins with A Meet & Greet with Del Shores at 5pm, followed by the first night of films at the Pensacola Little Theatre. Films will show both Thursday and Friday nights beginning at 6pm, and Saturday will feature an all-day film experience, running from 12–9pm. For the first time in the festival’s history, films will run on Sunday from 2–4pm for Stamped Family Day.
“Each year, our festival is growing, and we’re showing some of the best new LGBTQ films,” said Stamped Board President, David Newton. “The films we have selected for 2109 tackle tough topics and advocate for LGTBQ issues, as well as inform, educate and most of all, entertain. This year, we’re showing more films than ever before with a full day of films on Saturday and a family day on Sunday, and we’re thrilled to be offering four days of films for free to the Gulf Coast region.”
This year’s lineup features 28 films, including feature films and short films, as well as Q & A sessions, panel discussions and more.
“Beginning on Thursday with an opportunity to meet Del Shores, continuing through each night’s films, and culminating with family day on Sunday, this year’s film fest is a must-attend,” added Newton. “We encourage everyone to come and join the fun, show your love for the LGBTQ community, meet a legendary producer, and watch incredible films. Mark your calendars for August 22-25, and we’ll see you at the Pensacola Little Theatre.”
