Speaking of the Crowbar show, it introduced us to a new band that is just wonderfully weird and damn good.
Delta Doom is two piece band that lives comfortably encased in reverb. The vocals have this ‘underwater’ quality – an effect added to clean vocals that is just wonderful odd. This is doom music that puts a focus on tone over loudness for loudness sake.
The guitar player dons some sort of alter-ego – a masked, voiceless ghoul. The drummer handles all vocals duties.
The impact is immediate from the first note. The theatrics take a back seat to the powerful stop-start sludge doom that is powerfully hypnotic.
Delta Doom are a pretty new outfit – but look to them to make a big impact on this metal sub-genre.
