Band Review: Daddy Mack
Still singing the blues – still playing the blues.
What can you say when you are able to go see someone who has worked with masters, shared the stage with legends, and is just a unique force for keeping blues thriving… How about “Thank You!”.
Beyond the fact that Daddy Mack is a great guitar player, or that he does more than just sing – he feels it, I want to appreciate his band as a whole. Without hesitation, the most solid blues band I have ever seen.
When you read a little (yes, even just a little) about Daddy Mack’s amazing accomplishments as a blues musician – you know even before you step foot in the door that you are going to love the experience. What you don’t always know, is whether the band can keep up; and Daddy Mack’s can.
It was a great night of traditional blues, a mixture of Daddy’s originals and blues standards. Daddy Mack did not disappoint – and I hope I get the opportunity to see him again. You can also pick up one of their CDs to help keep true blues music going strong.
