Cadillac Willy continues to bring soul and blues wrapped up in classic rock jam band package.
Sometimes the most musically interesting experiences are when you don’t know what to expect – and that is part of Cadillac Willy’s charm. With a far-reaching history in the area’s music scene you just never know who could sit in for a set, drop by for a special song, or spontaneously join the guys on stage.
Although the name has been long etched into my brain as a big part of the local music scene – this was my first time making it to a show. I wasn’t quite sure what was in store – but it was a great exploration into Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones, and the Grateful Dead to name a few. Pretty much the prefect selection of songs to kick back and watch the sun go down over Alys beach.
The band does have its own website (http://cadillacwilly.freeservers.com/), but the best place to get the most up-to-date gig listings seems to be the local Beachcomber magazine which can be viewed in its entirety online here: http://www.thebeachcomber.org/index.html
