Celebrate the spooky season with Pensacon HalloweenFest!

Pensacon, Pensacola’s all-inclusive annual pop-culture convention, will once again celebrate the spooky season with the return of Pensacola HalloweenFest, a free outdoor festival to celebrate Halloween, on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Pensacon HalloweenFest offers a full day of spooky pop-culture fun in Museum Plaza in downtown Pensacola. Featuring an outdoor, convention-style atmosphere with a Halloween theme, the day will feature vendors, live entertainment, celebrity guests, artists, food trucks, trick-or-treating and other fun in a safe and family-friendly environment. Costumes are encouraged, and the day will include costume contests for children and adults, with a nominal entry fee for the adult contest.

Among the celebrity guests scheduled to appear is actor Deep Roy, who is one of only two actors known to have completed the science-fiction hat trick of appearing in “Star Wars,” “Star Trek” and “Doctor Who.” Roy’s other roles include Tim Burton’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (in which he played all of the Oompa Loompas), “Eastbound & Down,” “The X-Files” and “The NeverEnding Story.”

Roy and other guests will be on hand to meet fans and, for a fee, to sign autographs and pose for photos.

Kids in costumes will receive a free Halloween bag and are encouraged to trick-or-treat with the vendors set up across the plaza.

Safety is of utmost concern, and in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, every precaution is being taken to ensure a safe event. Masks are recommended, and vendors will be spaced out across the plaza to encourage social distancing. Ample hand sanitizing stations will be made available. Attendees are encouraged to stay with their groups and maintain six feet of distance from those outside their bubbles.

Vendor and performance applications are now being accepted, and sponsorship packages are available. For more information, email halloween@pensacon.com.
