Photographer Profile: James Vandergriff
Everyone give James a warm welcome! He is the newest member of the 850ME team – and we are excited to have him on board!
What first attracted you to photography?
Hard to say what did it, but I guess it would be that my dad was a photographer when I was younger, although I didn’t start learning about it till much later, but it was always there in the back of my mind waiting to get out.
When was the first time you felt like a professional photographer?
I don’t consider myself a professional photographer, just someone enjoying a hobby and learning more about it constantly.
Favorite style or subject to shoot?
As for style I would have say my favorite is long exposure, and my favorite subject seems to be sunsets.
Favorite piece of equipment?
Imagination. Although it isn’t tangible, it is a very important part of photography.
What is your dream photography gig?
My dream gig would have to be to travel and take photos of awesome landscapes and or concerts of my favorite bands.
Any advice for others who are interested in photography?
Always shoot in raw and learn the manual settings.
Best piece of advice you got starting out?
I would have to say the best advice I found is to stay away from any of the automatic settings on the camera.
What services do you offer?
At this time I haven’t done any “work” for anyone on a professional level, so I don’t have any set services to offer, however I am open to new things.
