Heroes and Happenings At Celebration Kick-Off

Red, White & Blue Celebration is a weekly hero honoring at HarborWalk Village every Thursday beginning May 29th, through Labor Day weekend. It includes live entertainment, kid’s activities, a WWII vintage air show and a spectacular finale of fireworks over the Destin Harbor. Hero nominations were submitted by family members, personal or professional contacts nominating individuals who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate heroism within their community, professional or personal life.

On May 29th HarborWalk Village honors Honorable Sarah “Sam” Seevers. Seevers is a long-time resident and active citizen of Destin. During her time with the Destin City Council she received many accolades such as Destin Council Member of the Year, Destin Rotarian of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year from Destin Area Chamber. Following the ceremony will be live entertainment with The Highsteppers.

Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of The Fudgery will follow the Red, White and Blue ceremony. Welcome “Papa Fudge” and his team of fudge makers as they entertain guests with show tunes and coaxing smiles. Since 1980 A.C. Marshall revolutionized this honored tradition of making fudge with copper kettles and marble slabs mixed with singers showcasing out of this entertainment. “Push Up’s for Charity” Nationwide Movement with Kristin Wyatt of Hands on Fitness in Destin will take place during this evening as part of their effort to raise $1million to help change the life of a veteran.
