‘Just Animals’ Invade Pensacola

On  Monday, October 28th, Just Animals will be at the Handlebar in Pensacola.  We got to send a few questions their way, and hope that you enjoy checking out the band.

*Who is answering the questions, and what’s your role in the band?1391798_10152448191587923_1514529177_n
This is Tyler.  I sing and play guitar, do a lot of the social media stuff, and coordinate the majority of bookings (Chris is doing more and more of that these days, which rules!).

* How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard you?
We’re a punk band.  I’d say we fall somewhere between the sound of Off With Their Heads and Broadway Calls.  The three of us share a few influences but are actually pretty diverse in musical taste, but in the end I think the average nerd in a black t-shirt would call us a punk band.

* What does the future hold for the band?
We have a new album coming out!  We just went out to California and recorded it at Roseland Recording Room with Matt from My Iron Lung.  The songs are being mixed now, so we’re hoping to have it out before the end of the year.  It’s going to be called “Euphemism for a Sex Worker” and it’s easily our best recording yet.  We’re doing most of the songs from it on this tour.  We cannot wait to put it out.

* Who would you most like to share the stage with?
Dain Griffin!  Dain fronts Phoenix emo-revival band Merit and has been a good friend for almost all of Just Animal’s life.  We’re doing this tour with him and it is going to rule.  He plays acoustic jams but they’re super heavy and he’s so damned good live.  I’m excited to tour, I’m excited to go to FEST, but I’m SUPER excited to watch Dain play a set every night!  He kills.
