Party Like You Mean it in the Tiki Bar!
Twice a year, bikers descend upon Panama City Beach for the Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally.
It’s a tradition that started back in 1999 when a group of bikers from Macomb, GA realized the strips of asphalt running along the coastline made for a pretty sweet ride.
Back in the day, they rode the beach, polished their chrome, and made the Tiki Bar at the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort their home base. (Click here to see more about the History of Thunder Beach).
Well 14 years on, the rally has grown to a huge event, which brings thousands of roaring engines, custom candy paint jobs, and a seemingly endless seas of meticulously polished chrome parts.
Still, the heart of the entertainment for the Bike Rally has always remained the Sandpiper Beacon’s beachside Tiki Bar.
The World Famous Tiki Bar at the Sandpiper Beacon Beach resort (17403 Front Beach Road) has a long-standing reputation for showing bikers a great time during the Panama City bike rally each year.
Whether it’s down to the ALWAYS free cover, the truly southern hospitality, open-door policy of ‘EVERYBODY is welcome to join the party’, or the hot lineup of bands – the Tiki Bar is always packed with bikers enjoying the entertainment experience.
Mustang Sally Band – an all-girl country rock-n-roll band typically headline the show. Mustang Sally has performed alongside high profile names such as Montgomery Gentry, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, and Blake Shelton, and toured internationally. These girls know how to get t
he party started, and keep the crowd going.
With 3 beachside stages, there’s always something going on in the Tiki Bar. Join the party early (around 6pm), where you’ll find the cheapest drink specials, and Big Engine. Big Engine have been ranked the #1 band in Florida by ReverbNation ,and have shared the stage with acts including Buckcherry, Motorhead, Bret Michaels, Vince Neil, Charlie Daniels, 38 Special, Ted Nugent, Shooter Jennings, and more.
