Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam is partnering up with Sonicbids in order to find the next great country act to be named the Pepsi Southern Original.
Acts will compete for a spot to open up for Toby Keith, Eli Young Band, and Darryl Worley on the main stage at Frank Brown Park of the three day festival in Panama City Beach, FL. Along with a headlining performance spot in front of over 15,000 rowdy country music fans, the winner of the contest will have a song produced by an award winning producer, a music video for the single, a development deal with a Nashville management group, and the title of Pepsi’s first ever Pepsi Southern Original.
The top 50 bands will compete at 5 regional events across the southeast where both fans and judges will select the top five bands to proceed to the finals at Club La Vela. The winner crowned at Club La Vela will perform on the headline stage on Saturday night of Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam and the 4 runner-ups will perform on the daytime beachfront stages on Friday.
Rendy Lovelady, Executive Producer of Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam and Artist Manager says, “As an artist manager that has been a part of putting together bands like Little Big Town and Jars of Clay, I’m always looking for the next original artist. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the talent whether they are from a small town or even a big city, but the online submission process will allow artists and bands from all over the country to get their music in front of industry professionals. The person who wins this competition has a shot at breaking into the country music world in a huge way.”
“I’m really excited to see just who this Southern Original is. Winning the contest is going to be a big step for their career,” notes platinum selling country artist, Darryl Worley, who will be a celebrity judge at the competitions.
Award winning producer and songwriter Jim “Moose” Brown who wrote “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” and produces Jamey Johnson and Darryl Worley will co-produce the Pepsi Southern Original’s single along with Worley. Brown says, “Being able to win a competition and jump right into the studio is an amazing opportunity. I look forward to working with them and am honored to be a part of launching their career.”
