From the lawn at Rosemary to the studio of Late Night with David Letterman and opening for the Rolling Stones, Vintage Trouble are a force to be reckoned with.
Last year’s Rosemary Beach concert series brought through a lot of interesting talent, but none shown quite as bright as Vintage Trouble. (The concert series happens every Thursday evening during much of the Spring and Summer, details can be found here: www.rosemaryconcerts.com.)
It is easy to draw a line to connect Vintage Trouble and Motown music of days past, but they aren’t just parroting music they love; they are recreating it, updating it, and re-envisioning it.
Frontman Ty Taylor is my generation’s James Brown – I have no qualms making that statement.
From the moment the band hit the stage you could see the glow, see that you were witnessing something special. This band absolutely loves what they are doing and that is simply one of the most enchanting things to experience.
When they made their Rosemary appearance they were on the edge of their stardom. Less than a year later, they are about to step out on a European tour with The Who and open for The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. Seriously, The Who AND The Rolling Stones. If that isn’t a ringing endorsement that makes your curious enough to look into Vintage Trouble… Simply nothing will entice you.
