JOIN US FOR A CINDERELLA GALLERY TALK

Pensacola Museum of Art
On Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., Pensacola Opera will host a Gallery Talk for the upcoming production of Cinderella. An art historian will offer a lecture about art during the time period that Rossini composed Cinderella, and Pensacola Opera’s Director of Education, Amanda Cook, will give a history of the composer and the opera, as well as introduce the 2014 Artists in Residence. The artists will perform arias and selections from Cinderella including the beautiful love duet between Cinderella and the prince. This event will take place at the Pensacola Museum of Art and is free and open to the public.
CINDERELLA TEA PARTY
Sunday, March 23 at 12:00 p.m
Saenger Theatre
There are just a few spots left for Pensacola Opera’s royal tea party with Cinderella! This is a wonderful opportunity to create a lasting memory with your child or grandchild prior to the matinee performance of the opera. Tea, sandwiches, and cakes will be served, and children will have a variety of royal activities in which to participate. Children are encouraged to dress up in their best royal attire!

 

$70 buys a ticket for one child and one adult, and another $30 buys an add-on ticket for the event.

 

Participants of the Cinderella Tea Party can also purchase matinee tickets in the “Royal Court” section (first two rows on the main floor) for only $15. Those attending the performance, and in costume, will get the chance to parade across the stage and wave hello to friends and family, prior to the start of the show.

The new production is directed and designed by Richard Eyre and Rob Howell, the same team that created the Met’s recent hit staging of Carmen. Rising young maestro Alain Altinoglu conducts.

day will also include a special performance by our Artists in Residence of the educational

children’s opera Little Red’s Most Unusual Day
