The guys in Wage War are back with a new EP they say is all about showing love to their home state of FL!
In an interview with the Downbeat Podcast, guitarist Cody Quistad stated, “On Manic we had a song called ‘Death Roll,’ and on the last record we had a song called ‘In My Blood,’ and both of those were like ode-to-Florida songs. So we kind of just decided to fully lean in.” Quistad goes on to talk about how, while Wage War enjoyed the radio success and opportunities presented by their previous release Stigma, they wanted to “push the heavy envelope” with regards to what they are capable of and the sound they have presented previously.
The five-song EP releases April 17, 2026, with an accompanying tour running through May 31 to introduce it to the world. Wage War has provided multiple opportunities for home-state fans to catch their show, with stops in Atlanta, GA on 5/29 (a day trip for most North FL fans), Jacksonville on 5/30, and St. Pete on 5/31.

All in all, It Calls Me By Name promises to be a deep and heavy harkening back to the band’s Florida roots. The first track, “Song of the Swamp,” is available on all streaming platforms now!
