Pensacon celebrates 25th anniversary of ‘Smallville’ with series stars Tom Welling and Erica Durance

Pensacon, the Gulf Coast’s premier pop culture event, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hit CW series “Smallville” by welcoming series stars Tom Welling and Erica Durance, aka pop culture icons Clark Kent and Lois Lane, for its 2026 convention, scheduled for Feb, 20-22 in downtown Pensacola.

Welling starred in every episode of “Smallville,” documenting the formative years of the man who would become the legendary Superman over ten years, taking Clark Kent from a rural Kansas high schooler to a mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper. Durance added new dimension to the series when she joined “Smallville” in season four, depicting the woman who would become a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist every bit the equal of her romantic partner, the Man of Steel.

Beyond “Smallville,” Welling’s memorable roles include playing the eldest son in the “Cheaper By the Dozen” films (in which he starred with Steve Martin, Hillary Duff and fellow Pensacon 2026 guest, Alyson Stoner); Marcus Pierce on the popular series “Lucifer”; and Samuel Campbell on the “Supernatural” spin-off, “The Winchesters.”

Durance’s career includes the starring role on the hit medical drama “Saving Hope”; a recurring role on the CW’s “Supergirl” series; guest appearances on such series as “Harry’s Law,” “Stargate SG-1,” “Andromeda” and “Tru Calling”; and many popular Hallmark films.

The super “Smallville” duo joins an incredible lineup for Pensacon 2026 that is also scheduled to include:

  • Geek icon Wil Wheaton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Stand By Me”);
  • Cara Buono and Randy Havens, stars of the massively successful Netflix series “Stranger Things,” which recently set records with its series finale;
  • Internationally famous actor Christopher Lambert (“Highlander, “Mortal Kombat,” “Hail Caesar,” “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan”);
  • The stars of the hottest horror franchise around, “Terrifier,” David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown), Samantha Scaffidi (Victoria Heyes), and Amelie McLain (Little Pale Girl);
  • Legendary actress Pam Grier (“Foxy Brown,” “Coffy,” “Jackie Brown,” “The L Word”);
  • Acclaimed actor Frank Grillo (“Superman,” “Peacemaker,” “The Purge,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Tulsa King”);
  • Sara Gilbert and Lecy Goranson, stars of the hit sitcoms “The Conners” and “Roseanne”;
  • A reunion of stars from the seminal 1987 vampire film, “The Lost Boys,” featuring actors Jason Patric, Alex Winter, Jamison Newlander, Billy Wirth and Chance Michael Corbitt;
  • Actor, dancer, singer and voiceover artist Alyson Stoner (“Camp Rock,” “Kingdom Hearts,” “Phineas & Ferb,” “Step Up,” music videos with Missy Elliott and Eminem);
  • Renowned actress Michelle Hurd (“Star Trek: Picard,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” “Anyone But You”);
  • Actor Elden Henson, known for his roles in the hit series “Daredevil: Born Again” and the popular film series “The Hunger Games” and “The Mighty Ducks”;
