What first attracted you to photography?
As a kid growing up in Washington DC, and then in PA very near Gettysburg, Antietam, Harper’s Ferry, I was originally completely intrigued by the Civil War images captured by Mathew Brady and his associates… Later, the works of Ansel Adams and the intense photography of National Geographic. I was born with a gift to draw/paint, and was capable of replicating photos (in drawing) of Sports Illustrated and Hit Parader, but not the amazing photographers above.
What is a moment you are most proud of in regards to photography?
Having had the opportunity to photograph something which was later used as the cover of an album/cd
Favorite style or subject to shoot?
Reflection, Flowers, Having the normal subject appear abstract or from a perspective typically unrecognized.
Favorite piece of equipment?
Me (as I believe, for you, should be you!)
What is your dream photography gig?
Having previous blessings of being able to photog and document behind the scenes of video, studio, all access special event/festival, etc… I would love a prolonged stint in the entire creation process.
Any advice for others who are interested in photography?
It is my belief that the individual (and/or group of) is the literal best piece of equipment in all ventures of expression. My advice, outside of always staying open to learning more and more of your tangible pieces of equipment, is to capture from the heart, capture with positive intent, enjoy and/or work with passion, and aim to capture the unseen inner essence spirit of all that you photog.
The best piece of advice you received starting out?
Don’t forget to turn your camera on, and always remember to take your lens cap off.
What services do you offer?
